Tantra Yoga by Amber St. Germain is an integration of many years of study in Bellydance, Kundalini Yoga, and Tantra Yogas including Ipsalu. This class will begin with practices for clearing and opening the energy channels so that Kundalini or sexual energy can flow uninhibited throughout the body, resulting in a state of heightened awareness and bliss. I will also share beginning practices for the ancient art of Pompour or Yin Style Lovemaking using Mula Bandhas or pelvic locks, which are internal exercises for strengthening the PC muscle and the mind-body connection to the root and sex chakras. Bast was initiated into a Devadasi lineage at 17 years of age by her first mentor, ShoShanna Rose, a cross-cultural mystic who later recognized her gifts as a Dakini and encouraged her path as a priestess, healer, ritual artist, tantric yoga teacher, and modern Temple Dancer.

When a shocking incident like incest or violence happens to children or young teenagers, the pain for their little bodies and immature psyche is too intense, so they try to cope by
slowing down the breath, which lets them move their consciousness away from the whole bodies into their intellect, figuring out what to do, or formulating an explanation about why the incident happened.
These explanations most often take the form of limiting beliefs that can be different for each person, but are rehearsed over and over again in our adult lives. The most frequent ones are: “I am bad so I deserve bad things to happen to me”-- “Family members hurt me and strangers are taking advantage of me. I am unlovable” or “I am alone and I cannot trust anyone; I must learn to do everything myself.”
Traditional psychotherapy is helpful to see and understand these beliefs; however, the Tantric approach often allows a person to access the trapped energy of the traumatic event more quickly and deeply. The residue of the event usually does not open up just by talking about it. Tantra stirs up lots of energy; usually enough energy to at least match the energy that the subject had when the event happened. Only then can the blocks be opened, and the wound of the incident or abuse finally be healed.
It is an amazing process that produces outstanding results. It changes one’s life.
